Pharmacy Assistant / Overview Provides and ensures an ongoing and efficient pharmacy department under the direct supervision of pharmacists by assisting in the distribution, collection of patient information and billing of medications.
Maintains a neat and clean work area and performing functions necessary in the daily routine of the pharmacy department.
Triages duties.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations Education/Experience Minimum Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred:
One year experience in a health care setting One year personal computer experience Completion of High School Algebra or equivalent Work Environment All work is performed in offices that require working in close quarters with other employees.
The pharmacy settings are air conditioned / heated.
Work also may take place throughout the hospital (i.

nursing stations, patient care units) or clinics.
Adequate protective wear available for handling certain drug:
such as a mask, gown and gloves.
Gloves and goggles are available for other procedures as necessary.
